Personal goal setting and personal growth.

Reflecting on defining one’s own version of success and creating one’s own goals. I did a thing! Read below to learn more.

My (re)commitment to OTF and fitness came at a turning point (and also the point in me telling my friend Dylan he should try OTF out even though I had stopped going for a while!). I was in need of a good mental and physical outlet and getting back to OTF delivered! I started going back this year and instead of stating to myself how many pounds I want to lose, I told myself I am going to commit to going to 40 classes. I did it! And then I did it again, another 40!

What OTF has given me beyond an amazing and incredible mental and physical outlet, it also made two things I **never** believed to be true true: 1) that I could jog/run and 2) that I would actually enjoy jogging/running or even want to! I remember the first time I jogged for 12 minutes…I was shocked. And then for 37?! I still find it hard to believe. Base pace was always a walking recovery for me, until this year. Seeing my own personal growth has been extremely rewarding.

In addition, watching my daughter come with me to OTF this year has made me more in awe of her!  Typically the saying goes like mother, like daughter. In this case, it has been like daughter, like mother. She loves running! And she is fast! She has been so proud of me seeing my commitment to fitness *tears* and seeing me run! Thank you, Jaya!! Your encouragement and cheering me on has been the best. And watching you has been incredible! #love

Thank you, Orange Theory Fitness!

PS: If I can add a third to the things I would never believe to be true – that I would stop cringing when it was time for the rower. Never thought that would happen either…!!
